Accused wife killer’s fate up to Indian court: US Extradition

Barry Artiste Op/Ed

Strange, when those implicated in murder flee to distant countries hoping to escape the death penalty in the US, and once caught Grab on to the Teats of Canadian Law with both hands, suckling greedily for a reprieve from the Electric Chair, in the US!   Hopefully Canada’s Prime Minister Harper will slam shut Lady Canada’s Ample Bra Strap and tell Avtar Singh Grewal, that it’s time to be bottle fed and face US Country Justice!

VANCOUVER — Surrey, B.C., truck driver Avtar Singh Grewal is hoping he’s Canadian enough to avoid a date with death in the United States.

Mr. Grewal, who moved to Canada in 2005 as a permanent resident, is accused of killing his estranged wife in Arizona, which allows the death penalty.

After the 2007 murder, he flew to India where he was arrested and now sits in a New Delhi jail, waiting to hear from an Indian court on Sept. 30 whether he will be extradited to the U.S. to stand trial.
