It seems no matter how clean your equipment is or the safeguards in place, listeria seems to slip through. There has to be a better way to rid foods of listeria.

OTTAWA — More than a dozen types of deli meats sold across Canada were hit by a recall late Friday over fears that they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said the sliced, ready-to-eat meats, were sold in Quebec, Ontario, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

This latest recall expands on another that was issued by Montreal-based Delstar Foods Inc. earlier this week.
