Atlanta Press Club announces its June/July Schedule of Speakers.Citizen Journalists and Web 2.0s.  would do well, if in the Atlanta  area, to attend some of these type events.

 THURSDAY, MAY 29 – “FROM JOURNALISTS TO AUTHORS” EVENING PROGRAMIf you’ve dreamed of landing a book deal, you won’t want to miss one of the Atlanta Press Club’s most popular programs, From Journalist to Author: Success Stories from the Trenches, on Thursday, May 29. A panel of local journalists in different stages of the book-writing and publishing process will share how they’ve made the transition, and offer tips and insights into putting your words between hard covers.
For the first time during this event, we’ll feature an Authors Showcase during the networking hour. Journalists-turned-authors who have self-published or who are published by smaller presses will sell and individually discuss their books with participants. Please click here for more information.

THURSDAY, JUNE 12 – EVENING SERIES: POLITICAL STRATEGIST RALPH REED SPEAKS TO THE ATLANTA PRESS CLUB

Ralph Reed, first executive director of the Christian Coalition, political strategist, and best-selling author will be a special guest at the Atlanta Press Club evening program on Thursday, June 12. He will also sign his first novel, Dark Horse. Please click here for more information.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 19 – 2008 ANNUAL GALA FEATURING BOB EDWARDS

The Atlanta Press Club (APC) and Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) will honor the best in journalism from 11 states in one night at APC’s 2008 Annual Gala. Bob Edwards, the host of The Bob Edwards Show on XM Satellite Radio and Bob Edwards Weekend on Public Radio International, will be the featured guest at this year’s event. The Gala will be held Saturday, July 19, 2008, from 6:30 to 10 p.m., at The Commerce Club in downtown Atlanta. Please click here for more information.
