This is one case where having a camera phone came in really handy. Doctors in Norway say they were able to diagnose a woman experiencing excruciating bouts of nipple pain after she brought in photos of her breasts snapped using the camera in her cellphone. The 25-year-old woman began experiencing frequent episodes of pain during pregnancy whenever her extremities – including her nipples – got cold. The pain was so intense that it would bring her to tears, says a report of the case in this week’s British Medical Journal. Not only that, but the colour of her nipples also altered: first white combined with a tingling pain described as tightening like a vice, then blue with a burning pain (“pouring acid”) and finally a red phase combined with numbness as the pain diminished.
