Students and staff watch the inauguration of Barack Obama in the Rotunda of the University of Ottawa.Photograph by: Jean Levac, Ottawa Citizen
Canadians across the country paused at home, work and school on Tuesday for what many believe will become a generation-defining moment.
The library at Ottawa’s Carleton University in Ottawa fell uncharacteristically silent while dozens watched the inauguration of President Barack Obama on a TV.
That ended in a burst of applause the moment Obama recited his oath as the 44th president of the United States.
