Clinton: I’m Second but Obama is Next to Last

Clinton: I’m Second but Obama is Next to Last

The old saying that American woman are poor in mathematics may be more correct than once believed. Hillary Clinton coming off a severe loss in North Carolina and a razer thin lead in Indiana is still running as though she can win the Democratic nomination for President of the United States. According to Scott Rasmussen, from Rasmussen Reports, a major polling agency in politics, Clinton cannot win. Rasmussen will stop pulling its Democratic tracking poll beginning Monday and focus its attention on the Democratic presumptive nominee, Barrack Obama vs. the Republican Presumptive, John McCain. Clinton’s arguements just don’t add up to a win for democrats.

Today is the first time in the race that Obama has they same amount of super delegates as Clinton.  It appears that Clinton pitch that she should be nominee instead of Barrack Obama. because of an Associated Press article that said Senator Obama’s support among working, hardworking Americans, white Americans, is weakening. She related that she has a much broader base to build a winning coalition on,  is falling on Deaf ears. Obama has received mass defections since Tuesdays primary. The super delegates are paying more attention to Hillary’s negatives  then demographic positives In making their decision.

Former President Bill Clinton is factoring in as well. Senator Clinton who has tied her qualifications to the Clinton presidency is being called the “old Politics” by Obama’s people. The desire to change is undermining experience in that Obama’s argument is, if they wanted to change the way business was done in Washington, they had enough time to do it. But they didn’t.

Obama is offering that a hyphenated America is part of the old politics. He says we are not Red or Blue, Black or White, Rich or Poor, young or old American’s but American’s . While the Clinton’s are fragmenting America into the old sub groups.

Is there a chance at a Clinton as Vice president? Don’t put money on it. Obama’s trying to focus his campaign on change. Adding Hillary as a running mate would negate his new school speak. With Hillary’s negatives he would simply be called an old politician, doing whatever it takes to get elected. Thats so Yesterday for a candidate who is talking about tomorrow.

So it’s over, but its like the girlfriend who doesn’t get the message. As is dating, there is no easier softer way in politics. The Clinton’s are old and out.   You have been traded in for a better looking, tanned, 40 something.

So what about Tuesday? Consider the Clinton wins in Kentucky and West Virginia as the second place finisher in the Kentucky Derby this year. Eight Belles had a strong second place finish but in doing so both front ankles are broken. Its time to put her to rest.

What Others Are Saying

Sen. Hillary Clinton darted across the border for a brief visit to Louisville, Ky. on Thursday. The city was gearing up for the running of the Kentucky Derby, and when Clinton stopped by her campaign headquarters she made her personal pick for the high-profile thoroughbred race plain. “I want everybody to place a little money on the filly.” Clinton said. The statement was clearly intended as an allusion to her own race with the Sen. Barack Obama.

If the Sunday Daily Telegraph in United Kingdom is to be believed  which I have no doubt Barack Obama will win the Democratic Presidential Nomination.
According to Senior Strategists for the Democratic Party as well as Senior Strategists from the Obama Camp the Campaign is now confident to have 120 Superdelegates out of the remaining 260 ready to support him. The Obama Campaign estimates that they’ll only need 80-90 of those once the Primary Season has been concluded.

What’s more interesting is that there is apparently a Deal in works to persuade Hillary Clinton to drop out of the Race. The ENTIRE Michigan & Florida Delegation WILL BE SEATED to get Hillary out of the Race.

When you saw FL Rep. Tim Mahoney how confidently he said that the FL Delegation will be seated it makes a lot of sense.

To let Voters decide or push their Candidate over the magic Number of 2.208 now with FL & MI the Obama Campaign is in works to slowly start enrolling those Endorsements and to end it by June 3rd.

The 20 Supers or so we saw to commit to Obama this week is part of the Strategy.

I must say that’s a brilliant move by the Obama Camp. If they believe they need only 80-90 I could see that happen by June 3rd to push him over the top.
Huh, so it looks like there backing of from the plan to declare Victory May 20th. Instead they’ll declare it June 3rd.

Obama overtakes lead in superdelegates for first time

WASHINGTON (AP) — Barack Obama erased Hillary Rodham Clinton’s once-imposing lead among superdelegates Saturday when he added more endorsements from the group of Democrats who will decide the party’s nomination for president.

Obama added superdelegates from Utah, Ohio and Arizona, as well as two from the Virgin Islands who had previously backed Clinton. The additions enabled Obama to surpass Clinton’s total for the first time in the campaign. He had picked up nine endorsements Friday.

The milestone is important because Clinton would need to win over the superdelegates by a wide margin to claim the nomination. They are a group that Clinton owned before the first caucus, when she was able to cash in on the popularity of the Clinton brand among the party faithful.

We lost this thing in February

“Absent some sort of miracle on May 31st, it’s going to be tough for us,” said a senior Clinton official who spoke on the condition of anonymity in order to be frank. “We lost this thing in February. We’re doing everything we can now… but it’s just an uphill battle.”

So, they knew they lost in February, but decided to stay in to destroy Obama? Factor in all the money troubles and you have to ask why the Clinton team kept up its negative assault on Obama.

Then this shows just how desperate Hillary had become even before the votes were counted yesterday:

“There are going to be the rest of these contests, which are very significant, and then in June, if we haven’t done it already, we’re going to have to resolve Florida and Michigan,” she told reporters during a daytime event at the India napolis Motor Speedway. “They were legitimate elections.”

Rangel on Why Hillary Still Runs

“If mathematically she couldn’t get the nomination, it would mean that Obama has won and so she wouldn’t be in the race,” said Rangel. “And so obviously mathematically she can.”

When asked how she could win the nomination, Rangel replied, “I don’t know, but if mathematically she cannot win, then why aren’t we declaring Obama the winner? I mean, it doesn’t make sense. It is not my job to explain how, if she put $6 million of her money, the team is still together, the campaign is still going on, why do I have to explain mathematically why she can’t win? If mathematically she can’t win, then they are crazy. They ought to go to an insane asylum.”

He added, “Anybody who really knows that they can’t win and they won’t quit, there is really something wrong with them.”

Team Clinton Hints at Party Unity Plan, Denies VP Talk

Hillary held a private rally-the-troops conference call with her super-delegate supporters this afternoon, urging them to believe that “this race is not over,” vowing to them she’d promote Dem unity after the primary, and conceding that she knows what they and the party are going through “is not easy.”

Somewhat tantalizingly, Hillary also claimed that there were back-channel talks of some kind going on between the two campaigns, possibly about how to maintain Democratic unity after the primary. Asked by a super-delegate whether there were discussions going on between the two camps about what would happen after the voting concluded, she said:

“There’s a lot of communication between both of the campaigns all the time. I don’t know how specific it is, but we have very open lines of communication…I know that both Senator Obama and I are committed, and the campaigns are as well, to making sure that when this is resolved” we will do everything we can to “unify the party.” She didn’t elaborate further.

Analysis: Could Clinton land the VP nomination?

One other factor now plays a bigger role in the vice presidential question than on the night of her defeat in North Carolina and her narrow win in the Indiana primary: her unequivocal assertion the following day that she has more support among white working-class voters than Obama has.

In an interview with USA Today, she cited an Associated Press report that, she said, “found how Sen. Obama’s support among working, hard-working Americans, white Americans, is weakening again, and how whites in both states who had not completed college were supporting me.”

It is difficult to overstate the negative effect this remark has had on superdelegates, party leaders and her Democratic colleagues in both houses of Congress. “That’s not a way to land the plane,” one of her key supporters said. “If you were a super delegate, you’d say, ‘We have to shut this down right away.’ ”

But others worried that her words were calculated, that by venturing into such risky, rhetorical territory about race, she might put Obama under increased pressure to take her on the ticket before more damage and loss of support from her working-class base is felt.

Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, an old Clinton friend, said Friday that she had made a major mistake in suggesting “that hardworking Americans are white people.”

“This statement has got to be dealt with by Hillary Clinton, and Hillary Clinton alone,” he said on MSNBC’s “Hardball.”

“The sooner she does that,” she said, “the sooner her ship is going to start sailing in a better direction.”
