Mark Penn, Chief Strategist of Clinton Campaign, Steps Aside

Mark Penn, the architect of much of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign, has agreed to step aside as chief strategist in the wake of revelations that he lobbied on behalf of a trade treaty with Colombia that Mrs. Clinton opposes.

Politisite Note:  The Colombian government fired him on April 5, 2008.  The say politics makes for stange beddfellows, Penn’s firm was hired by Union Carbide Chemical Corporation due to the  Bhopal (India) disaster that killed 2,000 people and injured thousands more.

Mark J. Penn (September 10, 1964), was the worldwide CEO of the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller and president of the polling firm Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates. [1] In September 2007, he released a book titled Microtrends: The Small Forces Behind Tomorrow’s Big Changes, which examines and illuminates small trends sweeping the world.[2] He was Hillary Clinton‘s chief strategist for most of her 2008 presidential campaign, for which his firm received $5 million. He resigned as chief strategist on April 6, 2008.
