Over the past five years, reputable political analysts have consistently highlighted Joe Biden’s evident decline. Physically, he has experienced multiple falls, including off his bike, on stage, and while descending the stairs of Air Force One. These incidents raised significant concerns, leading Biden to opt for using the “baby stairs” to board Air Force One in order to reduce the risk of accidents.
President Biden’s gait no longer exudes confidence; instead, he shuffles his feet and relies on special shoes for support. Following the recent debate on Thursday night, his wife had to assist him as he carefully navigated a few stairs on the CNN stage to prevent any falls.
However, the decline in his physical health pales in comparison to the substantial mental deterioration he has undergone. A comparison between his performance in the 2012 vice presidential debate and the recent debate reveals a stark contrast, indicating that Biden is a mere shadow of his former self. While he has always been known for his verbosity and dishonesty, the Biden of 2024 struggles to effectively convey any coherent message.
During the Thursday night debate, Biden’s hoarse voice, attributed to a cold, made it difficult to hear him clearly. He frequently lost his train of thought and repeatedly used the phrase “the idea.” For instance, when discussing the January 6 prisoners, Biden asserted, “The idea that they didn’t kill somebody, just went in and broke down doors, broke the windows, occupied offices, turned over desks, turned over statutes — the idea that those people are patriots, come on!”
This pattern of repeating phrases, including his well-known catchphrases like “Come on man,” “No Joke,” or “Don’t Jump,” underscores Biden’s descent into mental decline. As his errors and falsehoods become more frequent and embarrassing, his performance in the recent debate stands out as one of the worst in modern American presidential history.
