If it says Libby Libby Libby on the Label The Democrats Like it Like it Like It!

Where was the outrage with liberal cases?

Tuesday, March 6, 2007 2030 UTC By Albert N. Milliron (Columbia) (IMNS)– Lewis “Scooter” Libby, a former top aide to Vice President Dick Cheney, was convicted Tuesday of four counts of obstructing justice, lying and perjury during an investigation tied to the Iraq war. The Defense team plans on an appeal.

While Politisite and IMNS does not condone obstruction of justice, Perjury, and lying to prosecutor, we do see the possibility of an appeal due to jury questions presented to the judge that appeared that they were confused as to the definition of the offenses they deliberated on. The Defense team plans on an appeal based upon some of the issues outlined here.

The real issue is the liberal media and politicians had their reactions to the verdict preplanned. The writer questions the reasons no statements were made and possibly ignored at two cases that affected liberals.

Here is the responses from Liberal leaders to today’s verdict.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi:

“This trial provided a troubling picture of the inner workings of the Bush Administration. The testimony unmistakably revealed — at the highest levels of the Bush Administration — a callous disregard in handling sensitive national security information and a disposition to smear critics of the war in Iraq.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid:

“I welcome the jury’s verdict. It’s about time someone in the Bush Administration has been held accountable for the campaign to manipulate intelligence and discredit war critics. Lewis Libby has been convicted of perjury, but his trial revealed deeper truths about Vice President Cheney’s role in this sordid affair. Now President Bush must pledge not to pardon Libby for his criminal conduct.”

DNC Chairman Howard Dean:

“Today the American legal system did something the Bush Administration hasn’t, by holding Scooter Libby accountable for his illegal actions. Many unanswered questions remain about the other key Bush advisors who participated in the administration’s efforts to mislead the American people and smear its critics who have yet to be held accountable. Ultimately, the buck stops with President Bush.”

The bottom line, where was the out rage when In April 2005, Samuel R. “Sandy” Berger former United States National Security Advisor under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001, was convicted of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material. The conviction stemmed from his theft and subsequent destruction of classified documents from the National Archives in Washington. We are still waiting on that lie detector examination.

Where was the outrage when their own congressman Rep. William Jefferson, D-La, under investigation for bribery caught on videotape accepting $100,000 from an FBI informant whose conversations were recorded. One audio taped meeting, Rep. William Jefferson, D-La. The plan was for the lawmaker to use the cash to bribe a high-ranking Nigerian official.

What about the outrage when it was reported that 51-year-old Charles Rust-Tierney, an attorney and former head of the ACLU in Virginia, was arrested and charged in federal court with possessing child pornography. Agents found videos in his home of little girls being violently raped by adults.

Nothing from liberal politicians and very little from the media. The New York Times and NBC News, CBS News, CNN, and most of the major liberal newspapers also failed to cover the Rust-Tierney arrest. Not one Liberal politician related there outrage as done with former Congressman Mark Foley and Pastor Ted Haggard.

Now I ask you is this the most ethical congress in history as Speaker Pelosi stated. She related earlier that it took a woman to clean out the house. Speaker Pelosi must be waiting until Spring cleaning.

Editors note : One of the jurors was former Washington Post reporter Denis Collins. Now tell me how could this man be impartial with his assess to news sources prior to the trial?
