No parking at Invesco for Obama’s speech, Gates Open at 1pm

Gates will open at Invesco Field at 1:00 pm Thursday, but no parking will be available.  The DNC requests that in keeping with the, “Green” theme that folks walk, bike, use public transit to get to the field.

Don’t plan on parking at the stadium if you have credentials to hear Barack Obama speak Thursday night.

There will be no parking at Invesco Field at Mile High. The Democratic Party is encouraging delegates and people holding community credentials for Obama’s acceptance speech to walk, bike or take public transit to the stadium in keeping with its “green” convention theme.

Those who bike will be able to lock them at Rude Park, southwest of the stadium. RTD will be running shuttles from Coors Field to the stadium as well as light rail routes. The Democrats suggest checking RTD routes and schedules online to find the most convenient routes.

Car parking will be available in private garages and lots downtown as well as city streets
