Obama says Africa is part of world affairs

Barry Artiste Op/Ed

Nice to see Obama tell African Leaders the way it is ” Pull up your friggin Bootstraps and get with the Program” perhaps not in so many words, but since these countries whined for Independence for decades, they got it, yet many havent a clue how to run their country as an independent country, without suckling at the Worlds Teats for money. Especially money from countries they still abhored, including from Colonial countries who once made their countries prosperous, until African Dictators brought these countries fast into the stone age, with a populace who did little to stop it.

Of course if Obamas predecessor Bush or other world leader said what Obama said, guaranteed the word Racist would be bandied about.  Time to let em do Independence the old fashion way, Earn it or lose it !  You cannot have it both ways. The financial tap will soon run dry and those who do not help themselves will soon perish.

Course it is funny Saudi Arabia who has more money than God, and who wish a Muslim world, seem more tight fisted than a Scotsman on Christmas when sending money to help out their Muslim brethen in poorer and starving parts of the African or Middle Eastern world, like the West Bank etc,,,,preferring the Christian set and other organizations to fund all these charities we seem bent on sending truckloads of aid too.

The U.S. president was scheduled to spend 21 hours in Ghana on the weekend, showing support for the Western African nation’s democratic tradition and its relationship with the Western world.

And in a 33-minute speech Obama gave to Ghana’s Parliament, he talked openly about Africa’s promising future, as well as the many problems it is currently facing, including those that it is responsible for creating.

“This is a new moment of promise,” he said. “To realize that promise, we must first recognize a fundamental truth that you have given life to in Ghana: Development depends upon good governance. That is the ingredient which has been missing in far too many places, for far too long. That is the change that can unlock Africa’s potential.”

Obama didn’t hold back on the problems with corruption seen in many African countries, which he said have held such nations back from the success and prosperity they deserve.
