Sen. Leahy (D-VT) Tells Clinton, Get Out
With continued transfers of support going toward Obama and a Delegate lead of 1625 to Clinton’s 1486, Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) became the latest to call for Senator Clinton to, “abandon her Run”. The is growing concern that the more time it takes for a Nominee to be selected, the more folks will become dis-enchanted with the process. Democratic Pundits also are concerned about Sen. McCain’s ability to get his message out almost unchallenged.
NEW YORK — U.S. Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., has added his voice to others in the party saying that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton should abandon her White House run.
Leahy said there is no way that Clinton can win enough delegates to get the nomination. He told Vermont Public Radio in an interview that Clinton ought to withdraw and should be backing Sen. Barack Obama. But Leahy said that’s obviously a decision only Clinton can make.
Leahy endorsed Obama for the Democratic presidential nomination in January.
