South Carolina Republican Primary Moved to Jan. 19th

Aug. 9 (Iron Mill News Service) 1625 UTC — In a conference call, moments ago, South Carolina Republican Party Chairman Katon Dawson announced that the Republican presidential primary has been moved to Jan. 19. Party Chairman Katon Dawson announced the decision at the New Hampshire Statehouse and later in a conference call to media. Dawson related that this move will protect the integrity of the process and allow lower tier candidates the ability to get their voices heard.

Conversely he stated that a Republican debate in the planning stages would reduce the field of candidates by setting certain thresholds. He was not prepared to comment on the place, network, or the criteria for the filed of candidates that will attend shortly before the South Carolina Primary
