Tommy Thompson Becomes a Casualty of Iowa, Columbia, SC Aug. 12 2007 (Iron Mill News Service) — Former Wisconsin Gov. and Secretary of Health and Human Services Tommy Thompson stated that he was dropping out of the presidential race today due to his poor showing in Iowa. Governor Thompson received 7.3% of the vote coming in at fifth among eleven candidates. Thompson, who had strong credentials as a fiscal conservative and penned the now well known welfare reform program in Wisconsin. When Thompson was asked about his poor showing her related to CNN, ‘There`s no sense in looking back, I lost.’
